American Idol too mean?

So only 2 shows into this season, American Idol has bigger ratings then ever...but people are saying that they are much meaner than ever before.

Do you think American Idol is too mean? Is Paula and Randy coming over to the darkside where Simon has usually been the only one??

well, I don't think Randy and Paula got even meaner this season. I just think this season has the most number of worst auditions ever and they have enough reasons to get mad! LOL

I agree....some of the worst tryouts I have ever heard. Some of these people have got to know they can't sing. I used to sing professionally but I am now older and my voice isn't what it used to be.....my point...I would be ashamed to try out and I have too much self respect and pride to put even Simon through it.

From what I saw on the news the other night, in response to American Idol 6 and the judges being more mean and the people auditioning being more outrageous, the President of Fox network said...

"American Idol is just following a proven and successful formula"

**I am paraphrasing but that was basically his statement.**

I guess I agree with him though. I find myself wanting to watch, feeling for the contestants, laughing and getting excited all over again.

I am excited about this season. Should be a great one. We just need to get through the first month of tryouts....

I just watched the tryouts in New York, and whew....I was so happy to see NIcholas back! He rocked!! Well back to the topic, Simon and Paula did it again! The phenomenal fight between the two judges is really something to look forward to in every season!! LOL

Paula called Simon an..a**h***! LOL
