ATTENTION: AUSTIN, TEXAS AUDITIONERS ONLY!
The following information relates to the audition schedule in Austin, Texas for August 25, 2005.
PLEASE READ IT CAREFULLY.
DUE TO THE HIGH HEAT TEMPERATURES IN TEXAS DURING THE MONTH OF AUGUST, AMERICAN IDOL IS CHANGING HOW THE LINE AND AUDITIONS WILL BE HELD IN AUSTIN, TEXAS ON AUGUST 25, 2005. THIS DOES NOT AFFECT ANY OTHER CITIES ON THE AMERICAN IDOL AUDITION SCHEDULE.
The American Idol Producers will begin wristbanding and ticketing on Tuesday, August 23 and will continue this process through Wednesday, August 24 and until the early morning of August 25, the day of the actual auditions. THERE WILL BE NO OVERNIGHT CAMPING INSIDE OR OUTSIDE THE FRANK ERWIN CENTER but the wristband registration will continue. All regular Audition rules apply.
The reason for this is public safety. We want to avoid having a long line outside and do not want anyone waiting for an extended period of time in the Texas heat.
WRISTBAND & TICKET
When you arrive at the Frank Erwin Center, the line will form in front of Gate B (West side of building, one level up from street level). You are allowed one (1) person to accompany you to the audition and since we are issuing SEAT TICKETS, you and that person must be present TO RECEIVE A WRISTBAND AND TICKET. No exceptions. You cannot pick up a wristband or ticket for anyone other than yourself. Minors must bring their Parent or legal Guardian with them as well. THERE IS NO CHARGE FOR THE AUDITIONS OR TICKETS AND WRISTBANDS ARE NOT FOR SALE.
Once you have your wristband and ticket, you AND YOUR ONE GUEST will need to return to the Frank Erwin Center on Thursday, August 25 starting at 5:00AM. At that time, you will need to bring your two forms of ID (picture and birth certificate, or driver’s license or passport, something that proves how old you are and who you are). You must have your wristband and ticket as well. If you lose your ticket or wristband, you will go to the end of the line (so don’t lose them). NO EXCEPTIONS. Minors must bring their Parent or legal Guardian with them and remain with them while at the auditions. The auditions will begin sometime around 8:00AM on August 25. You will need to be in your seat at that time.
Please do not arrive any earlier than Tuesday, August 23. There is no benefit to being first in line. On TUESDAY AND WEDNESDAY, we will have plenty of time to ISSUE WRISTBANDS AND SEAT TICKETS to those who will attend the auditions. Please read the list of items you can and cannot bring to the audition here in the
FAQs. Remember to bring water, hat, sunscreen, and sunglasses. It’s going to be hot.
