Default Premiere Episode

So much hype to live up to!

So much exposition.

I dunno, it didn't quite have the impact with me that the pilot of The West Wing did. And the "I'm mad as hell and I'm not gonna take it anymore" premise was predictable and well... used. I remember when "Network" was released it was a semi-sensation; everyone was quoting it. (Kinda like "Show me the money" for you youngins) But, for me, drawing on this again, even while acknowledging it, just didn't spark my interest or give me much drama.

Maybe it's Amanda Peet... she just doesn't get me interested the way that the women of West Wing were interesting.

The most interesting aspect for me is the relationship between Matt & Brad. I suppose because I'm looking for autobiographical references to the Sorkin/Schlamme relationship. I suspect there will be a lot of truth here.

I'm also interested in the behind-the-scenes business of television politics. Anyone here ever watch "Beggars & Choosers"? It was a series made by SHOwtime. I loved it.

I'm not giving up on it. Not by a long shot. I have high hopes that it can bloom into something really good, if the network grants it the time. I hope this is not just wishful thinking.

Default Episode Two

So I have to say that I found episode two to be much more engaging than episode one.

And it was chock full of the political attitude that I loved in West Wing. Although, of course, in this instance it's the politics of television, a subject near and dear...

If you were/are a fan of The West Wing, then I would recommend that you give this a try. It's not the same life altering subject matter and I certainly don't swell with patriotic pride the way I used to, but it does have the quality of writing and acting that you would expect from a Schlamme/Sorkin project.

Well maybe i'm going a little off-topic here, but Peet was one of the big reasons why i absolutely despised the new x-files movie, that and xhibit... and the story was terrible

she has nice boobs, and i sadly think that may be her best quality, she annoyed me to no end in both "yards" movies...
